It's a mixer/studio recorder (I guess they're the same thing). |

kewl i knew it was something like that but was just saying that i unfortunatley would not be able to help you out with instructions.

A mixer and a recorder aren't the same thing. But still, nice - hopefully we'll get the chance to hear something you make? |

@Doz
Definitely. Still, I have to figure out how to get the tracks from the mixer/recorder, to CD/PC. |

Update: I looked online, and saw that it was called a Digital Audio Workstation. |

It looks like a close relative of my Boss BR 600. Does it incorporate any effects and a drum machine like mine? |

Well it can be used for pretty much anything from recording,mixing, editing,looping & sound manipulating and even rough mastering, so Digital Audio Workstation sounds pretty accurate.:P |

Unfortunately, no, not that I've seen.
@Deefa
I don't think so. I think it has a metronome, but that's about it.
Update: I think I can finally solve my recording problems with this: http://www.guitarcenter.com/Dunlop-Interconnection-Cable-Kit-333105-i1128959.gc |

Hey sKold I'm sure it has a line out right? Mabe run the line out to the mic in on your computer and then record it on the puter then burn to disk. |

Calvin... it does do all that... but yer could argue it's mainly applied to recording. Except the mixing bit (which, can still be applied to recording, but obviously has other uses). |

Ok, so I figured how I'm going to make use of this thing: I'm going to use it simply as a mixer/effects board instead of recording with it.
Here's how I got everything set-up to run to my PC.
Guitar > Workstation (using phantom power) > Amp (via RCA cables running from the Stations Master Out to the Amp's CD-In) > PC (via double ended speaker input chord plugged into the PC's Mic Input, and the other end in the Amp's Headphone input).
Work's like a charm. This should definitely improve the sound quality. Now all I need is a regular microphone instead of my PC mic.

Skold, you might want to try using it to record. the reason i say that is my experience with a cassette 4-track, allowed me to be more creative than staring at a computer screen. but did not allow me to "master" my ideas. But for quick and dirty demos it really shined.
My point is sometimes crouching over a box will help the ideas flow rather than mousing over cubase or what ever you use.
I personally find myself tweaking cubase more than actually playing guitar.
Enjoy your toy |

I also agree with TELE. Good point. I'm saving up to buy a 4 track cassette recorder. |

My 4-track is a Tascam 414mk i paid about $400 for it ten years ago. it's gotten to the point where it is falling apart.
I found one on ebay and i got it for $40 + shipping. I'll use the old one for parts but it was a great deal, and works fine.
so check ebay, i would go with tascam over fosteck
