major & funk chords mixed together?

Hey there,

I was wondering if there is a way to figure out if you can play like a standard chord (say, like a F# major for example) mixed with say a funk chord played at the same time without it sounding like a crap? In other words, is there a way to find which funk chord would sound good playing alongside the F#? i see the chords to scales category at the top but i don't see a chords to chords category, so i figured i'd ask this

I would say try using chords to scale for the f# and then build chords from the notes in the scales that come up.

F major and then right on a F9 chord is FUNK !!!!
Play the F Ionian scale over both thse chords...
If you take two different chords at the same time it can be called for "superimposition". Thats also cool !!!!

Well first off Funk isn't just about the chords you play It's has to do with syncopation and rhythm but you probably already know that. Do you want to blend styles or just hit one lucky chord?
