I listen to a lot of metal.Lately i've been listening to a band called Son of Bodom and I wanted to know what kind of scale they play in the Neoclassical Metal genre.Usually it sounds very melodic. |

Do you mean Children Of Bodom?
If so Alexi uses pentatonic a lot when soloing |

agree with Inflames also certain other scales can give you a melodic sound as well. |

You could also learn some melodic and harmonic minor as well, I don't think Alexi used those too often but it will give you a melodic sound for sure. |

Bodom also like using the diminished scale as well. It gives that sort of uneasiness and tension to the music. Son of Bodom? lol I haven't heard that one before, although my friend once called them 'Children of Bodmin'.

lol I thought they were called Children Of Bodom but I'm not a massive fan of power/death metal so I didn't want to point it out if I was wrong. :) Yeah, minor pentatonic and melodic and harmonic minor. |
