Will new strings make a noticable difference on a piece of crap bass?

It's worth to set the whole bass up aswell. That's what helps a great deal which may include changing the strings if they effect playablility. What are the problems with the bass you're talking about?

It's a peavey, international series, milestone 2. I found it beat to hell and abandonded. That is why i call it crap. So I fixed the electronics and the intenation.
