good multi-effects pedals?

what are good multi-effect pedals for around 200-250 € ?
playing mostly rock/metal

Boss Gt-5 is dam good

its better than the gt-6

and what bout the gt8 , i know he's more expensive than what i had in mind , but is it worth the price you pay for it?

yes they are alittle better, but i like the gt-5 better, easier to use and its blue!!

does anyone has any experience with the multi-effect pedals from zoom? the gfx5 & gfx8 etc?

yes! ive got a boss gt8, very expensive, and ive had it for a few weeks, its difficult to understand at first, but after you get to grips with it, its very logical and straightford. there are a few down points, such as i cant find a bag for it at all, and so cant gig with it yet. but its very flexible, and im pretty sure you can get any type of sound from it, ive even managed to make a flute synth patch from the guitar synth. there are all the regular effects and a whole lot more, and each parameter of the effect can be played with. there are a few other bad points, but theyre outweighed greatly by the amazingness of the gt8. lemme know if you want any more details

what more details can you give? I've never had any effects so would it be too hard to buy it as a first multi-effect processor?

no, it wont fit in a laptop bag, its quite long. this is my first multi effects pedal board, before i jus used overdrive an wha, and its not hard to use, you've just got to get used to it, theres abit of programing required, but thats just to get things to sound the way you want. im still getting used to it, and constantly finding new things. eg you can control the amount of drive you put on an effect simply by picking harder or softer, or control the depth of the flange by picking harder. a bad point is that you cant record more than 2.8 seconds of guitar playing then loop it back to yourself. some of the preprogrammed patches are abit rubbish, but its very easy to create your own, or connect it to your computer and download those that are on the internet, (www.bossgtcentral.com) you can even download the manual from somewhere on that site if you wanna take a closer look.

I have used the zoom padels I still own two of them but after I got the GT-8 I use that more now. I also picked up the GNX4 last year for my birthday and it has some nice things but the GT-8 is the best one hands down.
