Hum problem

Hi all!

I own a Fender American Traditional Stratocaster, which I absolutely love. I won't change a thing about it. However, there is the Stratocaster Hum issue... Is not SO bad; it's acceptable. However, it can be a little bit of a drag sometimes... I was wondering if there's something I can do to fix it... (I own a Marshall MG30DFX amp, by the way). I've heard something about some sort of pedal that reduces hum, or perhaps some cable or something. I don't know. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

There may be. If your electronically adept you can open it up and check all the solder points make sure everything is clean. Also the guitar should be grounded properly. Of course also make sure your cables are clean and whole. If you have the type that screw off check the wires inside.

My old strat had a problem for the longest time of it grounding out. It ended up being the female plug in the guitar. A little bending of some metal made sure I was always hooked up.

I forgot to add, if you have a 5 position switch which links two of your pickups together creating the sort of false humbucker effect it will reduce a ton of buzz. When I had my strat I pretty much stayed using 1-2 or 2-3 pickups.
