Right pink?

When I'm playing a solo on the guitar with a flatpick, I always like to rest my right pink on the top of the guitar (for a better string orientation) , but I wonder if I can gain more speed by not doing that, In other words, is it better to just pick the strings from out of the air, without resting the pink or supporting the palm of the hand,

no i dont think its a big deal..

whats funny is last night i was jammin and i noticed i rest my pinky on my pick gaurd, kinda caught me off gaurd, but i wasnt havin any problems..

youll get faster at whatever style you practice.. that is:
is you practice without the pinky youll just get used to it not being there, or if you do keep it there, youll develope the same speed as anyone else.. IF YOU PRACTICE

practice is the most important thing.

It WILL limit you in the long run. Don't do it. Only thing that could be resting on the guitar is the bottom of your palm to keep unused strings from ringing out.

Yeah, that's what I suspected, I'll try to change my habbit, although it's kinda hard after twenty years of doing it the wrong way. For the moment when I don't rest the little finger I don't play nearly as fast or clean as when I have my finger rested on the pickguard. Well I guess that's going to be better with a lot of practice, Greetings, P
