Kick my ass at guitar lol. I think we should all make some Youtube vids of our playing, make a poll, for judges [judges cant record, it wouldn't be fair] and have a bit of a competition.
Soy.El.Che posted something like this way back, but it was with internet bands, I think this would be easier and a bit more competitive [fun] to do. Any takers?

Covers, made up whatever. No bands through mixng and overdubbing through the internet cuz it'll get confusing fast. as many vids as you can though. If you like get a friend to record with you, cool but to try doing it through the interwbz it gets really hard ta do. Numsayin'?

i like this, lets combine the ideas, how bout we start to make categories, like one for metal, jazz, rock...ect. we all agree on a song, we post it on youtube, then here and vote. we cand also prob delete the batlle of the bands forum thingy b/c its not happining. also battle of the bands WAS MY IDEA MINE MINE MINE!!!! NOT YOURS MINE!!!!!wahahaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaah!

@ Nightmare and BBT - Just record with anything you can and post it guys. A video of your hand isn't very special, I just thought it'd be easier and have better sound quality than tring to upload and mix on the puter. But whatever suites, thats fine.

Okay, we have enough players, now we need some more judges.

we have to agree on a song though for genres. i say we should play an ozzy song for like the early metal/rock genre. maybe a skynyrd song for the southern rock genre. a led zep, or pink floyd....ect for the classic rock genre, like widley known bands that everyone knows.

I'll be a judge. But pretty please don't do an Ozzy song.

No video to record my stuff. On the rare chance I get one, I'll resign from the judging seat and compete with you guys. :D

i wouldnt mind being a judge :P i would play but i have no way to record so judge please :) and also we should do a specific genre of music like be quite strict about what you're going to play. thats way its easier to judge and not so bias. it has its pros and cons as not everyone likes everyones music so yeah...

And no one song for the genre. Lets see what we can create from what we know instead of re-creating one good song. It will add more color to things.

Lastly, we need to choose a couple genres of muzik to record. Metal/Rock is one.

we should pick judges for categories. it wouldnt be fair to put someone who likes metal in the jazz category, and vise versa. why cant ppl tht arnt entered in a category judge? we can put it up as a poll.

Yeah, Like if you don't play metal but have an ear for it you can judge the genre.

actually Elliott and I went round and round on this one a while back. i say just play anything you want to play, just play it the best you can and the quality of your playing will be apparent. my suggestion then was to break it down by skill level not by song or genre. but the whole thing fell apart because we all couldn't agree on a set of standards. My suggestion is to play some songs with other members of the forum for the sole purpose of having fun and making music. Forget about a contest and just enjoy the exerience of making music with someone you've never met before, for the sake of doing it.

i think whoever isnt entered in the genre should be entitled to judge. i think we should make genres for ppl to post in and judges will enter ther?

actually we should scrap that idea and send the videos to one of us and then we post it in a poll and see whos video is the most popular or regarded as the best.

hah! sweet idea, cept some of us know our stuff from pics of gear and stuff, and ye...it could work. tht would be sweet.

But then, no offence to anyone, but not everyone understands exactly what you (meaning anyone who posts a video) are playing. So then there could be ignorant judging.

Although, it doesn't actually matter. It's all for fun anyway.

Sorry, you'd have to count me out. I don't have avidio recorder of any sort that's not some kind of accient 80's Sony home vidio recorder. If I ever do I won't put it on YouTube eithr, I hate that place.

If you get desperate anddecide you want a bad judge, fine I'd do it...only I'd be awful as I'm too nice, possibly the slowest guitarist here and so there's my reasons...although I'd REALLY rather it if you found another judge for those places!

Slow is good! Keep at it! The best thing you can do is start off slow, if you rush off and "try" to be the fastest, you'll get no where. You need to start at the slowest pace and work slowly. You're off to a great start Heather, keep at it! :D

However...i think just record and mayb all can be judges just by saying: "i like this vid rather than those"...or "thumbs up for this vid"...so no judges but all the forum (including those who has already recorded and posted vids here)...so u can start coz i cant really record vid :P
