Soloing

Hey guys, my comps been down for like 7 weeks to clarify my absence, I'm trying to clarify something, I've started randomly improvising scales, so my question is if I'm playing something in the key of A and I want to use like a Harmonic Minor scale or something to give it a Malmsteen element, I would want to use it in the key of F right being that F is the b6th note, or is there a different rule when using Harmonic minor?

As a rule, don't play a harmonic minor over a major scale.
Harmonic minor is it's own scale with it's own chords to go allong with it. The right minor scale would be F# (remember, how could it be an Fminor if there is an A in it)
But to play F# harmonic minor over A major the E# would clash.

I see, well thanks man I'll start using it over minor keys, I had noticed certain notes sounding incredibly ***ed over I suppose they're the E#'s
