What is a good method for learing fast guitar picking?

I need to know how I pick with a guitar pick and how can I learn it fast and clean... Is there any good methods of learning fast and clean guitar picking (with a pick)? Thanks =D

keep the pick as close the string as possible (I use dunlop jazz picks,heavy) and use a metronome. This is a valuable lesson that I missed early in my learning how to play. A metronome will help you develop clean lines and speed.
