Rock in Finland

This is to Empirism,
I was doing a little search on Rock in Finland but i didn't come up with alot. Mostly folk groups. What's the scoop on music in your country. Don't want to sound ignorant but would i have heard of any famous Finnish bands or songs?

Children of Bodom is my favorite Finnish band it's mostly from what I've heard folk and metal, try CoB though good shredding and decent vocals on a few tracks

Metal... I would say Artillery was from there... But I only hear they were from Scandinavia... I think Hammerfall is too...

Ensiferum, Children of Bodom, Wintersun, Norther. these are all bands with growling tho =p

Don't forget Sonata Arctica they shred pretty intensely

Morning :P. ye, try Hanoi Rocks. Finnish bands at these days are mostly Melodic Metal or Heavy Metal that goes global marketing. Nightwish, HIM, Stratovarius and Amorphis to mention few.

Rock genre in finland is more as we call "Suomirock" that is more aimed for Finnish audience. But if you wish you can try these bands out. Eppu Normaali, Neljä Ruusua (which is more pop Rock), Yö, Popeda, and Don Huonot.

Damn im sure ive forgotten something improtant, but must hurry to work ^_^

I forgot HIM and Stratovarius I thought Dimmu Borgir was but then I remembered the Norwegian Black Metal
