B:-7
G:-9^

Play it with some distortion. Hear that? I'm trying to find out what technique causes that, and what it's called.

It sounds really cool for leads.

I believe it's called a Unison Bend.
Like, when you tune your guitar going like

0
5

That's a unison I think. When two notes sound the same, so a Unison bend would be bending it so the G sounds like the B

What is the arrow after the g note? If it's a bend...

Your bending into an octave, not sure if it has a real name, but it's used allot in blues... I do it more like

E: 12
B: 15^

but it can be used anywhere, just bend up to the octave.

I know that that was used in the intro to Run To The Hills and at the beginning of the second solo in Number of The Beast, my problem is the bends from Ace of Spades like how the fuck do you bend 2 strings on the same fret but have one bend go like an extra note more than the other

k heres what it is,

first southern bands like skynyrd use this a lot, it gives a twang, but not too much of one with distortion, see gimme three steps. in tht they are odviously using some pentatonic on the 7th fret.

the 9 bend is the same as the 7 on the b, see one by metallica, just b4 the end of the solo. a lot of times u see bands do what skynyrd does

b--10
g--9b

this is using the pentatonic. bending the 9 is the 11, in the box shape. the 10 is also in the box. since the 9 also is 7 on the b, its part of the main pentatonic also, hope u can undertstnad this.

good call BBT but I use like 11 or 12 gauge strings so I think I'm gonna pick up some 9's for my least used guitar before I try that

Talk about random posts, aha.

Pusher it actually is not that hard, just use yer first three fingers. I lay them all across the three strings (flatly) and just push them. It is sorta hard to describe the position of the fingers. But yeah.

Someone must have used a defibrillator on this post to bring it back. I think he is talking about arranging your fingers like you are playing a 'standard' A chord, but somewhere else on the fretboard and bending three at once like that. Thats how I picture it anyway.
